Atlassian Data Centre Price Increase – Frequently Asked Questions

1. What products are affected by the February 2026 price increase?

The following Atlassian Data Centre products will see price increases:

  • Jira Data Centre (List: +15% / Advantaged: +18-40%)
  • Confluence Data Centre (+15%)
  • Jira Service Management Data Centre (+15%)

2. When do the new FY ’26 prices take effect?

The new Atlassian Data Centre pricing takes effect on February 17, 2026, at 12:00 AM PT.

3. Why is Atlassian increasing Data Centre prices?

Atlassian is increasing the cost on their Data Centre products because of their ongoing investment in data centre security, scale, and support. The goal is to deliver security enhancements, performance optimisations, and long-term platform stability to customers to ensure that their Data Centre footprint remains protected and reliable until a full cloud transition is possible.

Atlassian is focusing their Data Centre investments on:

  • Security and trust: Enhanced encryption, monitoring, service accounts, and stronger authentication/access controls.
  • Performance and scale: Innovations like OpenSearch-powered enterprise search, instance optimisation, and significant performance improvements.

Moreover, Atlassian has recently introduced enhanced encryption and monitoring on Jira Data Centre, Confluence Data Centre, and Jira Service Management Data Centre, along with service accounts for safer automation, strengthened authentication, and robust access controls. These products now offer new hybrid capabilities (including the Rovo connector and Jira Product Discovery integration), which will enable customers to access AI-powered insights and connect self-managed and cloud data.

For Jira Service Management Data Centre, Atlassian has strengthened security and compliance, including restricting access to Assets data in the Assets Confluence Macro. They have also boosted scalability with group queues for efficient triage and new insights and recommendations to help you optimise your instance.

Additionally, the Confluence Data Centre now supports creating blog posts from templates and offers significant performance improvements, such as faster space deletion, improved performance for adding Jira issue dates in Team Calendars, and new dashboards for performance insights and observability.

4. Which customers will be impacted by these changes?

Given the varied product and plan combinations Atlassian Data Centre customers have across seating tiers, each customer’s experience and price impact will be unique. However, if your organisation is facing regulatory, technical, or budgetary challenges that have been preventing you from migrating to the Atlassian Cloud, you may be eligible for the price-capped Advantaged plan with Atlassian Data Centre. Please reach out to Corptec’s Atlassian consultants to discuss the most cost-effective options available to you.

5. Considering that Atlassian recently announced the Data Centre end-of-life for Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management, why are Atlassian Data Centre product prices being increased?

Atlassian product prices typically increase annually. Historically, Atlassian’s annual price increase tends to apply to all its major products—whether cloud, server, or data centre. This annual price increase is part of Atlassian’s business strategy to support ongoing innovation, maintain product quality, and provide excellent customer service.

However, as announced in September 2025, Atlassian is retiring their Data Centre products (notably Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bamboo, and Crowd) starting March 30, 2026. This transition will occur in stages across a three-year period, culminating on March 28, 2029. After this date, all Atlassian Data Centre subscriptions and associated apps will expire, and the products will become read-only. Technical support and security bug fixes will cease.

The current price increase, therefore, is intended to provide appropriate support and pricing options based on each customer’s realistic ability to migrate to the Atlassian Cloud. Atlassian recognises that some organisations have legitimate reasons for remaining on the Data Centre longer than others, and is committed to continuing investments in security, performance, scale, and support for their Data Centre products. Since Atlassian Data Centre provides a stable, secure, and controlled self-managed option for customers with specific regulatory or technical needs, this will help them continue their mission-critical work as they prepare for their cloud transition.

6. Are Atlassian’s investments in AI and the Cloud driving these price increases?

While the developments unlocking the power of AI on Cloud for Atlassian Data Centre customers have been part of Atlassian’s R&D strategy for their Data Centre, neither hybrid capabilities nor AI are the driver of this upcoming price increase.

Hybrid capabilities in Rovo connectors allow enterprises to keep sensitive workloads self-managed on the Atlassian Data Centre while enabling them to securely connect to the Atlassian Cloud services for AI, analytics, and collaboration. This approach still delivers measurable value, such as improved security and compliance posture on-premises, as well as faster innovation via cloud-connected features and admin tooling.

7. Will the Atlassian Data Centre price increase affect customers who just rolled off a discount or are coming off a multi-year contract?

The FY’26 Atlassian Data Centre pricing and packaging update is meant to create a unified, consistent pricing structure for all Data Centre products. With this update, all historical Data Centre plans have reached the list price.

Since any discounts offered are time-bound mechanisms to ease adoption or transitions, Atlassian Data Centre product pricing returns to the current list plan when a discount ends.

For customers coming off of multi-year agreements, pricing will now reflect current list prices. Additionally, with Atlassian retiring their Data Centre products, they no longer offer Data Centre contracts for more than one year at a time.

8. Will the Atlassian Data Centre price increase affect organisations that are in the middle of a migration or thinking about migrating to the Atlassian Cloud?

Atlassian Data Centre customers who are in the process of a cloud migration need not pay for both at the same time. Atlassian offers a Dual Licensing programme, which extends a free Data Centre licence renewal for 6 months when you purchase an eligible annual Cloud subscription. An experienced Atlassian Cloud migration partner like Corptec can help you plan, test, and execute your cloud migration without fear of failure or downtime. Please get in touch with our cloud migration experts to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about the transition process and associated pricing.

9. How will the Atlassian Data Centre price increase affect open quotes or renewals?

If your quote has been generated before 17th February 2026, you will receive the current Atlassian Data Centre list pricing. All existing quotes remain valid until deleted. Once deleted (typically 14 days after expiration), customers continuing on the Atlassian Data Centre would be required to pay the new list and/or advantaged prices, effective from Feb. 17th, 2026. Your current quote cannot be restored at that point. We recommend that you reach out to Corptec to help you monitor and adjust open quotes and renewals carefully between now and the price increase date.

10. How will user tiers be affected?

If an Atlassian Data Centre customer upgrades their user tier on or after Feb. 17th, 2026, the cost will follow the new FY ‘26 pricing. However, if the customer increases their user tier before the price increase date, the upgrade cost will follow the current FY ‘25 Atlassian Data Centre pricing.

11. Would customers still be able to negotiate for a multi-year Data Centre contract? And what happens to on-going custom negotiated multi-year contracts?

With the Atlassian Data Centre approaching its end-of-life by March 2029, the company is focused on standardising all data centre contracts to one-year terms, since shorter contracts enable more flexibility in terms of cloud adoption. However, if your multi-year subscription is currently active, your upcoming invoice will not change unless you make a new purchase. Renewing on or after Feb.17th, 2026 will apply the new list pricing to your next invoice. You may upgrade to a higher user tier, which will be pro-rated on your next invoice and extend your contract term 12 months from the tier upgrade date.
